We all want to ensure that Christmas is a wonderful time with families being together, having fun and building precious childhood memories. Yet, so often in SEND families, particularly when children or teenagers sometimes have difficult or dangerous behaviours, things can become very tough very quickly, often heart-breakingly so.
We’d love to help you and your family have the best Christmas ever this year. That’s why in this session we’ll be sharing dozens of easy-to-do strategies and ideas that really can make a significant difference towards having a much happier and easier time this year.
We’ll be looking at many of the those things that help to create the so-called perfect Traditional Christmas. We’ll examine why some of them don’t always work for a child who gets overwhelmed and out-of-control very easily, and what you can do to make things easier for all of you.
We’ll also look at strategies which can help any other children or teenagers feel happier and safer over Christmas, as well as looking at ways you can cope much better as well.
We’d love you to join us if you can, to give you and your family a great chance of a really lovely family Christmas. It costs £8.50, which includes access to the recording of the session for four weeks afterwards.

Practical Strategies to Help you Reduce your Parental Overwhelm and Exhaustion at Christmas
The Newbold Hope Approach - for stronger and happier SEND families
Thursday 14th December 2023 between 8.00pm and 10.00pm
Are you usually close to exhaustion by the time Christmas Day arrives?
Someone has to make Christmas happen. When it’s your job to do the bulk of the shopping, wrapping, decorating the house and the tree, buying all the food, cooking it and keeping everybody happy falls on your shoulders, it can be incredibly stressful, exhausting and overwhelming.
That’s why this two-hour session is so important, because you deserve the best Christmas possible too. Self-care for parents of SEND children isn’t a luxury; it’s essential. If you are feeling good about yourself absolutely everything gets easier, including organising Christmas and being a great parent.
I know, I know, self-care can seem like just another chore to add to the already overloaded “To-do” list, but that’s why this two-hour session can really help. It’s especially designed for parents of children who can behave in difficult and dangerous ways, and who also have a disability or an additional need. We’ll share dozens of tiny little things you can do that only take a minute or two, but which can make a huge difference to your stress and exhaustion levels.
The session starts with a relaxation exercise that will help you to feel calmer and happier. We’ll then look at many of the common stress factors which face SEND parents, how they can be even more intense at Christmas, and how you can manage them better than ever. This could be the two-hours you won’t even know how much you needed until afterwards, but which can reset your whole mood with tips tricks and strategies to sustain this feeling of inner calm all the way into the New Year.
Please join us if you can. The session costs £8.50, which includes access to the recording of the session for four weeks afterwards.
